Inauguration Day
There are times in your life when you are going to feel so unbearably helpless, as though nothing you have done or will do has the power to affect one iota of change. It is in these moments that all you can do is create. We can put something that forth that for just a bit, makes ourselves a little more at peace. This was my choice for inauguration day. The day after, we marched. The weeks, months, and years after the ceremony, we will fight. But ON the day, when we are in such pain and such mourning, all we can do is create. Something as moving as poetry, or even something as seemingly trivial as an outfit. Whatever works.
